12:00 - 1 2:50       In the beginning God created&he llip; a committee!

O give me your pity, I'm on a committee
W hich means that from morning to night,
We attend and amend, and con tend and defend
Without a conclusion in sight.
We confer and c oncur, we defer and demur
And reiterate all of our thoughts.
W e revise the agenda with frequent addenda,
And consider a load of r eports.
We compose and propose, we suppose and oppose,
And the points of procedure are fun;
But though various notions are brough t up as motions,
There's terribly little gets done.
We resolve and absolve, but we never dissolve,
Since it's out of the question for us.
What a shattering pity to end our committee.
Where el se could we make such a fuss?

Never, not committees in our church ! Ten top tips to make our committees not only more Spirit-filled, but e ffective.

Where two or more s ervices are held on a Sabbath, the figure recorded is the attendance at both/all.

  4. This attendance count should in clude the total number in attendance including all children (regardless of age), all adults, both SDA vis itors, and non-SDA visitors. Everyone who is in attendance is to be reco rded. This is to be an accurate co unt, not an estimate.

  5. After the attendan ce counts are totalled and recorded in the space below, this form should be given to your local church clerk / secretary. < /p>

  6. This information should be in cluded in the quarterly reports to the Conference / Mission Church Clerk .

The attendance records w ill eventually be coalated on a world wide basis to get an accurate reco rd of how many people worship together on a Sabbath. It might be more ac curate than membership lists that do not account for non-members' attend ance.

Any questions on this process can be sent to Marci Neal, the Irish Mission Secretary.
