Kilkenny Seventh-day Adventist Church Swamped with Visitors on a "Friends Together Day"

Posted on Jun 17, 2010

For many years Kilkenny had just a few members and they would hold meetings once a month. Then life changed when in 2008 a group of Sudanese arrived in Ireland. Evelyn Wilson, a Bible worker, who took care of the group heard that many of the Sudanese were Adventists. She was very happy because now they could have weekly Sabbath services.
On Sabbath, 15 May over 80 people gathered together in their little but happy church. On most Sabbaths less than 30 people worship there. The church hosted a Friends Together Day. People from many different churches were there, including 2 Pentecostal pastors.
Members from the Ballinacrow church attended and contributed to the day. Guests and members enjoyed a beautiful service led by Evelyn Wilson and stayed for refreshments afterwards. With such a great attendance in the house of God we hope and pray that this is just the beginning of many more. Evelyn said that many doors were opened as she talked to people. Some expressed the desire for Bible studies. Members are happy to see some attending church on Sabbath. The members spent many Sabbaths together in prayer and personal dedication preparing for the day. The day was a success and we pray that this is the beginning of much more excitement in Kilkenny.
